The Equal Rights Amendment would amend the United States Constitution to give equal rights to women, just as the Illinois state constitution does.

Current Status of the ERA
35 state legislatures have ratified ERA. We need only three more. Supporters include: AARP, American Association of University Women, AFL-CIO, board of church and Society of the United Methodist Church, BPW, Church Women United, General Federation of Women's Clubs, Illinois Federation of Teachers, League of Women Voters, NAACP, NOW,YWCA, and Zonta.
